Manchester United Considering Sergio Reguilon

Manchester United are seriously considering signing Tottenham Hotspur left-back Sergio Reguilon as a live option. United have made an offer to sign Mark Cucurella but after the Spaniard played for Chelsea in Wednesday night's Carabao Cup win over AFC Wimbledon they are now actively considering Reguilon.

Cucurella's contract remains in effect, with United's recent transfer for footballing and financial reasons linked to the ongoing search for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

Amrabat's first loan offer was rejected by the Serie A club on Wednesday.

Reguilon was on loan at Atletico Madrid last season, where he made 12 appearances.

United have been considering various options after Luke Shaw suffered a muscle injury that would sideline him for a long time.

Substitute Tyrell Malacia will also be out, leaving 20-year-old Alvaro Fernandez the only player United have named for the job.

Diogo Dalot played at left-back in United's win against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

If United are looking to send a new signing in January when Shaw and Malacia are in good form, the Cucurella deal will become more complicated with his arrival on Wednesday. Cucurelli's departure - his first this season - means that if he returns to the club in January he will not be able to leave and will not be able to play for a third club this season.

Reguilon has not played for Spurs this season.
