Jack Grealish's £100 million move to Manchester City will be completed today.
The Aston Villa skipper will sign his contract in Manchester before completing the British record transfer transaction.
City became favourites to sign the talented Villa player in March, according to Sportsmail, and they have remained steadfast in their pursuit, initiating negotiations over their bid last week and offering his £100m clause last Friday.
At the Etihad Stadium, Grealish is expected to earn in excess of £230,000 a week. The Premier League champions have made a statement with the acquisition, as Pep Guardiola tries to defend his championship and go one step further in the Champions League.
Grealish returned to Villa training on Monday after vacationing in Mykonos and Dubrovnik. As the group went through their paces, he maintained a professional demeanor in honor of his boyhood club.
He spoke with sporting director Johan Lange and expressed his desire to advance in his profession.
Villa have finalized the £30 million signing of Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey, who will help them strive for a place in the Premier League's top six.
They also want Southampton's James Ward-Prowse, Chelsea's Tammy Abraham, Norwich City's Todd Cantwell, and Manchester United's Axel Tuanzebe to join.
The rebuild will do little to assuage Villa fans who are angry about the loss of their top player, but the club offered Grealish good conditions to stay and remain ambitious in their future intentions.
Grealish will now get the opportunity to play in the Champions League, confirming his status as one of Europe's top midfielders.
Despite Kane's absence from training this week, City is still interested in signing his England teammate Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur. However, the deal will not be as straightforward.
Daniel Levy insists that his captain will stay and that a price in excess of £150 million will be required to persuade him otherwise.
